Henricus Gerbrandus (Harry) Starren ( 1955 ) is a Dutch writer and teacher. He studied history at the University of Utrecht and political science/administration at the University of Amsterdam .
Starren worked, among other things, as a scientific researcher, university lecturer and director of a research and consultancy agency and was director of the PAO Business and Administrative Sciences in Utrecht. Until May 2012, Starren was general director of De Baak Management Centrum, affiliated with VNO-NCW .
He is currently affiliated with the Dutch Creative Industry as Federation Chairman and director of Ithaca International, located in Amsterdam and Nice.
In addition to his management position, he is active as a trainer, lecturer and consultant, particularly in the field of management of professional organisations. Starren was a presenter of the Teleac/NOT program Grootmeesters in Management. He has published a book of the same name. Starren has since published a second book, The 21 Commandments of Modern Leadership , which he co-wrote with T. van de Kerkhof.
